Đan Đan | A basic weaving kit

After one year of working in the handicrafts industry, Giao realized that the most effective way to preserve traditional techniques should be showing them to the public so that they can be seen in daily life.
That is why the project was named ‘Sống’ (‘Living’). 

The team followed two main directions:
(1) Collecting natural fiber woven swatches.
(2) Launching a basic weaving kit and targeting at young people in urban areas who were ready to learn and apply Vietnamese traditional techniques in their personal projects.
 
Weaving Pattern Library
The team succeeded in gaining permission from handicrafts villagese to share 20 weaving pattern swatches. They also realized the differences in techniques among Northern artisans and Southern ones. A library was opened at thesunlabvn.com to display the collection of swatches.
 
Trial Users' Feedback
While the artisans did not need any educational tool to teach the techniques to younger generations, urban young people showed a profound interest in the kit and eagerness to learn the skills.
